HOUSE REPAINTING

After 7 years of neglect, we revived a house in Bryanston with a fresh coat of paint. This was a big project in an upmarket environment, requiring utmost quality products and workmanship.

We tackled every crack, sealing them tight before adorning the facade with the client’s new preferred colour scheme. Attention to detail extended to sealing windows and parapets for added protection.

The client expressed their joy at the final result as their rejuvenated home was restored in pristine condition.

ROOF RENEWAL

A homeowner in Roodekrans contacted us about their aging steel roof. The 23-year-old green tiles were faded and lacked visual appeal. Replacing the entire roof would be a significant expense.

Our inspection revealed that the steel tiles themselves were still structurally sound. We proposed a cost-effective solution: a thorough cleaning and treatment of the tiles, followed by a high-quality paint coating.

The roof tiles received a new lease on life and extending the roof’s lifespan for years to come.

DAMP PROOFING & PAINTING

We were called to assist the client restore the Voortrekker Building in Kempton Park. There were extensive problems with rising damp which had resulted in damage to existing walls and paint. In addition, the reddish paint had faded significantly in the sun and needed to be completely re-done.

We did an extensive damp proofing repair job on the walls to treat the damage caused by the rising damp and to treat the walls to prevent future damage. Next, we started the painting of the walls with a lighter off-white colour to restore a more classic feel to this historic building.

WATERPROOFING & PAINTING

We were called to a residential property in Illiondale, Edenvale, to inspect a tiled roof that was in need of repair. It quickly became clear that no maintenance had been done for a very long time. In fact, we were informed that it was 20 years since the roof was last seen to.

The roof was leaking and very brittle, so we had to exercise extreme caution in the way we planned and executed the repair project. We rejuvenated the roof by first waterproofing it and then treating and painting the roof tiles. The project was completed in 48 hours from start to finish, leaving a very satisfied client admiring the beautiful new roof.

WATERPROOFING & PAINTING

This property had been painted just 3 – 4 years before we were called on to assist. Water was coming through the roof and causing water damage in many places, despite the relatively recent maintenance work.

Our inspection soon revealed that the parapets had not been sealed correctly and that an expansion joint was needed to prevent horizontal cracks as shown in the photos. We created the required expansion joint by cutting a straight line through the plaster and filling it with joint sealant, we then stripped the plaster in many places and resealed the property walls and roof to ensure that the property was protected properly against future damage.

RUST TREATMENT & PAINTING

Roof 1: Cottage

The steel roof was completely faded and had minor rust spots, whereas the barge was badly rusted. We sanded off all the rust, coated it with a water based rust converting etch primer and once dry, painted 2 coats of roof paint.

Roof 2: Main house

We sealed all the ridge caps with a waterproofing slurry. After cleaning the roof, we painted the entire roof with a coat of a waterproofing sealer and finished off with two coats of pure Acrylic roof paint.
